Dear Sir or Madam

My name is Helena Hjertén, I am a Java developer and also mother of two lovely daughters.  I live with my husband and my two girls in Värmdö were we settled in 2000 after almost four years of working in Japan. Since returning from Japan, I have been working in the IT-business in various positions such as software developer, tester, test leader and participant in a Mobile Device Management Terminal Program.  Since September 2006 I am happy to fully pursue my favourite tasks – java development – as a consultant at auSystems (soon to be CyberCom).

I appreciate working with competent colleges and for a company with a clear goal for the future. I am very satisfied with being back on track with my long term goal of becoming a qualified system developer. I am also very satisfied with my current employer in many areas, but in today’s hectic life there are many different factors that together can form an interesting job situation in combination with a fruitful family life.

Since I had been away from development for some time during maternity leave before joining my current employer, I dedicated the autumn 2006 and spring 2007 to help increase the speed in my competence development pace. I pursued an evening training in Design Patterns at KTH, and study for the Java Certificate as well as pursue certain private projects.

2001: Development of Wireless Certificate Enrolment System - system for rolling out terminal certificates over the air. Mainly built with Java Servlets and jsp pages.

2002: Development of prototype for Terminal Configuration system. I was responsible for the network part with TCP-IP programming and simulation of network communication to external system. The final prototype was a java server with automatic configuration of settings for a mobile terminal, created for a European operator.

2003-2004: Technical Project Manager for a Terminal Capability Database, The work involved database design (MS Access and Oracle) as well as initiating the work process for a subscription program of the terminal capability repository, provided to operators to use together with our Terminal Provisioning System. I was sole responsible developing this initial solution which today is the basis for our current Terminal Capability Repository which has a key roll in the SmartTrust Mobile Device Management Solution.

2004: Development of GUI for update procedure of Terminal Database. This resulted in a java application used by system engineers at mobile operators for updating their Terminal Capability Repository. I designed this java program and developed it together with one college using Swing technology.

2005:
Testing for Java applet management system for Over the air download of java applets to terminal.

Test leader for our Mobile Device Management Product. In this project, the development was outsourced to Wipro in India, and the work demanded good communication skills as well as good knowledge of product design. Our MDM product consists of several java servers that communicate with our Delivery platform built in C++ as well as with the heart of the system, the Oracle database. The administration programs are java clients/servers developed using the SOAP framework. The project involved 5-10 people and I was also involved in a large amount of complex tests.
